Yep...you read right...robbed. Both of our cars were broken into last night, along with 2 cars at our across-the-street neighbors! (Let's get the lecture out of the way right away...I KNOW, we should park them in the garage but Brandon's motorcycles take up one side and our bicycles and other sh** take up the other side. I KNOW, we should make sure we lock our vehicles if they're outside. We thought we did...guess not.)
Luckily the only thing taken was a really old digital camera that didn't work that great anymore. But both of our vehicles had stuff taken out of the glove box and middle consoles...they just threw the stuff all over. Same thing with our neighbors. The only things they had taken were some anti-freeze and coolant and a Bluetooth (or something like that). But both of the cars were rummaged through too.
What I don't get is that Spencer didn't hear them! I mean, the dog hears EVERYTHING! No one is allowed to even walk past our house without a "greeting" from Spencer. But then again, the windows were shut, the air cond. was on and fireworks were going off (which means he's sleeping in Belle's room).
What a crappy way to end a great weekend! BUT...we're lucky our vehicles weren't damaged or anything real valuable stolen!
Stupid people!
Belle had her 1st t-ball came last night! So cute seeing a bunch of 5 year olds trying to figure out where to run, who to throw the ball to, deciding if they need to get the ball or can just watch it go past! She had an absolute blast...and did a pretty good job! She had 2 nice hits and did pretty good hustling after the ball (when she was paying attention and not dancing around that is)!
Here are some pictures of our Lil' Slugger and her team (and Coach Tom and Coach Matt):
Here are the videos of her at bat:
We paid an impromptu to visit on Saturday to some friends of ours who live about an hour away. This is Brandon's get-dirty-shoot-stuff-and-blow-stuff-up buddy! As you can tell from the pictures, the boys had a ton of fun muddin' with the 4 wheeler! I took a ride on it too...but not in the mud! Belle, Melissa and I had fun playing bocce ball and just hanging out (and laughing at the boys acting like 12 year olds!)! Fun, fun!
I had book club last week and since our book was called Cocktails for Three, we decided to each bring a cocktail to share. I decided to go for an easy cocktail...did some googling and found an awesome and easy one! I was told over and over again how yummy it was! It is my new favorite hanging-out-in-the-sun cocktail!
So...if you need something to quench your thirst, try this out:
Orange Sparklers
Ingredients:
1 bottle (750ml) sparkling white wine (Asti, etc)
1 1/2 cups orange juice
1 cup pomegranate juice
juice from 2 limes
Mix all ingredients together, chill and serve! If you want to be fancy, serve with a slice of lime!
What does blogging do for you?
Submitted by Madeleine Rose.
Funny you should ask! I had someone ask me just this weekend why I have a blog. I told them I have one because it's a place where I can talk(write) about whatever is on my mind, brag about my kid, whine about whatever is bugging me at the time, and just babble on about stupid stuff...and no one HAS to listen/read it. I do it for me...and if others like to check out my blog from time to time, that's awesome! It's a great way for everyone to keep up to date with my and my family's lives, without having to spend hours on the phone (cuz who has time for that?).
I've actually found out in the past couple weeks that there are more people who read this than I thought though. Which is super cool! Guess I better watch what I say about them...or at least say it scripted huh? J/K!
I am absolutely, 100% crabby today. Wasn't that way when I woke up...wasn't that way at the doc's office...wasn't that way until I talked to my hubby. And now, he has ruined my day. Stupid, stupid boys.
I have to retract what I previously wrote. Hubby just called...apologized for being a jacka**...said he had some time to think...said he didn't mean what he said...said to not worry. Now I feel better...much, much better!
I know for a while there my usual shopping places were a bit worried...since I had posted the blog about hating shopping after my horrendous shopping trip! But, alas, I have come to love shopping once again! I had a doctor appt in Edina today and happened to drive by Old Navy on the way...saw a sign that said "50% off summer clothes"! That got my attention (if you didn't know...I love a bargain just as much as I love shopping). So, after giving up more blood at the doc office, I stop by to see what Old Navy has got for me! They had racks and racks of clearance clothes...summer clearance clothes! Plus, almost everything else was 2 for $something! I got 6 shirts, a pair of shorts, 2 camis for me...2 flip flops, 3 shirts for Belle...swim trunks and shirt for Brandon...all for $100! AND I didn't get depressed because everything made me look like a pregnant hooker! Their shirts fit me perfectly!
Thanks Old Navy!!! I'm now back to loving to shop...the economy will soon be bouncing back! :)
I admit it, I am a huge worrier! Always have been. And it's carried over into being a Mommy! From the moment Belle was born, I've been worrying about everything imaginable about her! It's amazing the weird things I worry about...is she breathing right, will that toenail become infected and need surgery, will she fall off her scooter and break her arm??? I worry about everything! BUT...I have tried very, very hard not to let her in on my worrying! I keep a smile on my face, hold back the "Be Careful!"s, and let her be curious and adventurous. My hubby has helped a lot with this also. You see, he is the opposite of a worrier. He rarely worried (he says I do enough worrying for the both of us). AND he's still a boy at heart. So...he gets her to help use tools and climb high on the monkey bars and ride on the minibike and motorcycle. It's good for her and it's good for me. I trust him completely with her as I know he would never put her in danger.
So...the other night was t-ball and she wanted Daddy to give her a ride on his motorcycle to the field. No big deal, right? They go for motorcycle rides all the time now that she's big enough. BUT I've never driven behind them on their rides. I was freakin' out that she was going to fall off or forget to hold on or that another car would hit them. My heart was seriously pounding like crazy. I couldn't concentrate on anything but her on the back of that big ol' motorcycle. Of course, they made it to the field just fine. She didn't let go, or fall off, or get hit.
I told Brandon he can give her rides all her wants...but I don't want to follow behind again! Let me be oblivious!
Belle has been begging me to get out the sprinkler...and yesterday was the perfect day for it! So, we invited my niece, Jena, over and pulled out the sprinkler and kiddie pool! The girls, of course, had a blast...but not as much fun as our dog, Spencer, did! He LOVES laying in the pool and chasing the sprinkler! We just bought a new sprinkler that twirls the water in a circle...he was chasing it around and around! I don't know who had more fun...the girls, me (from laughing at the dog) or Spencer!
Here's a video of Spencie chasing the sprinkler (don't mind my crazy sounding laugh)
Obviously, I've always thought my husband was attractive...I mean, I had to be drawn to him in the first place right? All that crap about being attractive in the inside...hey, I gotta think you're hot for me to want to get to know you inside!
Anyways, as I was saying, I've always thought Brandon was good looking. But this past year he has lost 40+ pounds, droppped 3 pants sizes, 2 shirt sizes and just toned up a bit. So, he is no longer just good looking but H-O-T, HOT! And I've been telling him this...but he hasn't completely believed me! BUT THEN...his band played at a block party this Saturday night and this chick kept hitting on him! Asked his bandmate if Brandon was married (he can't wear his ring when he drums cuz it's too big and ends up pinching his skin), kept eyeing him, etc. When he told me, I could tell it kind of made him feel good that she hit on him!
Great, now the other chicks are after my man. I'll have to start making him really fattening meals, maybe tattoo "married" on his forehead, follow him to all his band gigs and glare at all the chicks who even dare to look his way! J/K! He's all mine!
