July is national ice cream month! What's your favorite flavor?
Submitted by LittleWiseOne.
Finally, a QotD that calls out to me!
Ah...where to begin! Ice cream is my ALL TIME favorite dessert! I wouldn't feel right naming just one as my favorite flavor so here's a top 10 list:
1. plain ol' chocolate or dark chocolate (my stand by)
2. chocolate chip cookie dough
3. caramel swirls (dulce de leche)
4. french silk pie (I'm drooling just thinking of it)
5. neopolitan (gotta love the mix there)
6. cherry nut
7. butter brickle (from my childhood)
8. moose tracks
9. strawberry (with BIG chunks of strawberries)
10. vanilla (loaded with oreos or chocolate syrup or sprinkles...)
I could go on...but then it wouldn't be a top 10 list! Pretty much, if it's ice cream and doesn't have some nasty weird flavor (like licorice...yick) then I most likely love it!
Damn...I need to go get some ice cream now!
What question do you hate being asked?
"When are you guys going to have another kid?" or "Isn't it about time you had another kid?" or any variation of the sort. People just don't always think before they speak.
What does blogging do for you?
Submitted by Madeleine Rose.
Funny you should ask! I had someone ask me just this weekend why I have a blog. I told them I have one because it's a place where I can talk(write) about whatever is on my mind, brag about my kid, whine about whatever is bugging me at the time, and just babble on about stupid stuff...and no one HAS to listen/read it. I do it for me...and if others like to check out my blog from time to time, that's awesome! It's a great way for everyone to keep up to date with my and my family's lives, without having to spend hours on the phone (cuz who has time for that?).
I've actually found out in the past couple weeks that there are more people who read this than I thought though. Which is super cool! Guess I better watch what I say about them...or at least say it scripted huh? J/K!
Has anything unlucky happened to you today?
I was super klutzy...dropped and spilled an entire brand new container of blueberries, stubbed my toe twice, banged my elbow and dropped at least 5 plates/cups/bowls as I was emptying the dishwasher. And I've gained 2 pounds since trying to lose weight this week! What?!!?
I think it all relates to some PMSing happening though...sorry Friday the 13th...it's not you!
What are some of the best(and worst) things about summer?
Submitted by L33tchica.
Best things about summer:
- I don't have to work.
- I still get paid even though I'm not working!
- Staying in my pj's until I feel like getting dressed.
- Going swimming everyday it's above 75 degrees.
- Watching Belle at her sport of the year (this year it's t-ball)
- Being outside as much as possible.
- Going to the cabin at the end of the summer
- Doing whatever we want, whenever we want.
- Wearing SANDALS!!!
- The way a nice cold beer feels on a hot summer night.
Worst things:
- Mosquitos and bugs (I loathe bugs)
- Having to shave my legs (and pits) everyday
- Those hot, HOT days (I have being sweaty)
- Having to wear a swimsuit (gulp)
- That it has to end. (If only I could not work all year and still get paid)
How many houses have you lived in? How is where you live now different from where you grew up?
I have lived in 4 houses in my life.
The 1st one was in Sioux Falls, SD. I lived there from birth until we moved to Shakopee when I was 16. It was this huge old, old house with tons of character! The rooms were huge but it wasn't very modern. We didn't get air conditioning until I was 12, we sometimes had mice in the walls (just in the walls though), the basement was a big, scary concrete room, and there was always something that needed to be worked on! But I loved it!
The 2nd house is the one my parents live in now. I hated it when we moved in...only because it's where I had to live when we moved away from all my friends. I learned to love it though. It has an awesome pool in the backyard and it's Mom & Dad's house so I always feel at home and safe there.
The 3rd house is the first house Bran and I bought together! It was this adorable, super small, old house in Shakopee! I absolutely LOVED that house! It was mine! It was old so it had a ton of character (like a mini version of the house I grew up in, minus the mice). It had all original hardwork floors and molding! Just an awesome house...but way too small once we had Belle. I still miss that house! We drive by it and I get a little sad.
The 4th house is the one I'm in now...the house Brandon grew up in! We bought it from his parents almost 5 years ago. It is slowly becoming mine. There are still parts that I still see as his "parents house" but we've done a lot with it to make it all ours. Most likely, this will be the house I live in for a very long time. We have SO many plans for it!!!
How would you like to be remembered?
Submitted by Paulha66.
I hope that I am remembered as someone who made a difference, for the better, in the lives of many children...my own kids and the kids I teach.
Where do you want to be in ten years?
Submitted by baby3194.
Funny thing is...I'm pretty sure I know where I'll be. I'll be living where I'm living (unless my neighborhood turns into some ghetto or something), I'll still be teaching (although it may not be 1st grade...who knows) and I'll be with my family.
Hopefully I'll have another kid by then (God I hope so). Belle will be 15 and will probably be hating me (like we all hated our moms at 15) and Brandon will still be Brandon (which is a good thing).
But then again, who knows! Life likes to throw you curve balls every now and then!
What's your favorite type of cheese? Or, if you don't like cheese, why not?
Submitted by Draegon Scribe.
First, I have to say that I think this is a very odd question. But...since you asked...my favorite cheese is pepperjack cheese, although I have to say I pretty much like all cheese. Cheese makes everything taste better!
What's the best thing about your mom?
Her unconditional love and her willing-ness to kick anyone's a** (figuratively) for us! My mom is definitely a Mama Bear! You don't want to cross one of her kids (or grandkids) or you will face the wrath of Junelle! She is always on our side (even when she knows we're probably wrong)...and willing to fight for us to the end! It's amazing how many big, tough people have been scared away by my uper-short, 90 pound (at the most) mom! Ha ha!
I also love and admire the way she interacts with her grandkids! She's an amazing Nana!
Happy Mother's Day, Mom! I love you!
